Tanja Döring
Tanja Döring (Hamburg, Germany). Studied computer science and art history in
Hamburg and Valladolid (Spain). Research associate in the Digital Media Group
at the University of Bremen (Germany). Research on human-computer inter-
action (HCI), especially in the areas of tangible interaction, interactive surfaces,
and embodied interaction. Media art installations displayed at ZKM in Karlsruhe
(Germany) at the German HCI Conference Mensch & Computer, at MIT Media
Lab in Cambridge (MA) and at Kunsthalle Bremen (Germany). Co-founder of the
Fab Lab in Hamburg and co-organizer of fab lab workshops.

Sylvia Johnigk
Sylvia Johnigk studied Computer Science at Berlin Technical University, with a
focus on data security and software technology. Since 17 years, she has been
working in IT security and privacy, starting her own business in IT consulting in
2009. She is an active member of FIfF e.V. (Computer Scientists for Peace and
Social Responsibility), joining its board in 2009.
Judith Schoßböck
Judith Schossböck (Vienna) is a research fellow at the Centre for E-Governance
at Danube University Krems, Austria. She is member of the interdisciplinary in-
ternet research group at the University Vienna and researchers freedom of in-
formation, the promises of new media and digital and (post)apocalyptic
u(dys)topia.

*1981, researcher, lecturer and artist in Vienna, graduated with distinction at
the Dept. for Transmedia Art, University of Applied Art, Vienna, 2008-2010.

Daphne Dragona
Daphne Dragona is a media arts curator and researcher based in Athens,
Greece. Her main fields of interest are game based art, networked art and crea-
tivity related to the digital commons. She has collaborated for exhibitions, work-
shops and media art events with well known centers, museums and festivals in
Greece and abroad. Among them are, LABoral Art and Industrial Creation Centre
(Gijon), Mediaterra festival (Athens), the National Museum of Contemporary Art
(Athens), Fundacion Telefonica and Alta Tecnologia Andina (Lima) and
Transmediale festival (Berlin). She has participated with lectures and presen-
tations in different conferences and articles of hers have been published in
books and magazines of various countries. She is also PhD candidate in the
Faculty of Communication & Media Studies of the University of Athens.
Amelia Andersdotter
Amelia Andersdotter is a Member of the European Parliament for the Pirate
Party in Sweden. She works with industrial policy in the parliamentary commit-
tee ITRE and is a substitute member of the committees for international trade,
INTA, and budget control, CONT. She's the Patron of EPFSUG, the European
Parliament Free Software User Group. She also works in the delegations for the
Andean community and Korean peninsula. Previously she studied at Lund
University and she has been working with the Pirate Party youth organisation
Ung Pirat in Sweden since 2007.
Mara Verlic & Wencke Hertzsch
Wencke Hertzsch and Mara Verlic are Assistant Professors at the Department of
Spatial Development, Infrastructure and Environmental Planning at Vienna
University of Technology and are the scientific managers of the research project
“Perspektive Leerstand”.
DI Wencke Hertzsch
Wencke Hertzsch is a city and regional planer (TU Berlin) and has worked be-
tween 2000 and 2007 as a freelancer as well as with S.T.E.R.N. GmbH in
Berlin in urban renewal and neighborhood management. Since 2007 she is a
scientific associate at the Centre of Sociology at Vienna University of Technology
focusing in rher esearch and teaching on communicative and cooperative plan-
ning, participation, planning methods and instruments, social space analysis,
urban health, mobility and creative cities.
Mara Verlic, MA
Mara Verlic is a sociologist with a focus on urban studies and has worked in
inter-disciplinary urban development projects, in neighborhood management
and in urban cultural management. Since 2011 she is a predoc Assistant
Professor at the Department of Spatial Development, Infrastructure and
Environmental Planning at Vienna University of Technology focusing on urbanism
and European spatial development.
Markus Schmidt
Markus Schmidt is the founder and CEO of Biofaction, a research and science communications company, and has an educational background in electronic
engineering, biology and environmental risk assessment. For the last 10 years,
he carried out environmental risk assessment, safety and public perception
studies in a number of science and technology fields, including GM-crops, gene
therapy and synthetic biology. He served as an advisor to the European Group
on Ethics (EGE) of the European Commission and the US Presidential
Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues. Schmidt also aims to contribute
to a better interaction between science, society and art though public talks,
documentary films, the organisation of the Synthetic biology science, Art and
Film Festival, Bio:Fiction, and the bioart exhibition synth-ethic. For more

Anouk Wipprecht
Anouk Wipprecht is a Dutch fashiontech designer at the moment based in
Vienna/Austria, as well as researcher/lecturer and curator of the
TECHNOSENSUAL 'where fashion meets technology' exhibition; a show about
electronic couture. Part futuristic, part anime-meets-high-fashion, her aesthetics
are set apart from more utilitarian wearables (which are all about function) and
can be considered as 'host' systems on the human body in where technology
creates their own forms of interaction, movement and meaning. Her projects
have been featured in magazines like WIRED and Business Punk and ELLE, and
exhibited in both museums as well as fashion events in Europe, Canada, U.S.A
and Asia. Next to this she created with a team wireless controlled stage outfits
for the Black Eyed Peas SuperBowl 2011 and Eurovision songfestival 2012.
Thomas Ballhausen
Thomas Ballhausen is a film scholar working for the FAA - Film Archive Austria
(Vienna) - and teaching at the University of Vienna (Dept. for Comparative
Literature, among others). Furthermore, he is a writer, literary studies person,
editor and translator based in Vienna.
Nicole Prutsch
*1980 born in Wagna, Styria, Austria, lives and works in Vienna. Nicole Prutsch
studied painting at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna, with Johanna Kandl
und Gerhard Müller, Institute of Fine Arts and Media. She completed a semester
in Arts & Science Visualization with Virgil Widrich and studied Print and Time
Based Media at the University of the Arts London, Wimbledon College of Art,
She also holds a degree in Biomedical Science from the University of Applied
Sciences, FH Campus Wien.
